What happens when you mix a skinny jean clad uber-risque lyricist and fuse him with an electro-freak laptop DJ? What do you render when you sample ‘a little bit of hip-hop’ and ‘a little bit of rock-and-roll’? Toss in 2-parts electro and 1-part booty-bass and you have the essential makings of the Marcus McFly experience.
The Kentucky born emcee began in hip-hop under the psuedonym ‘Cool Hand Rich’ whilst producing for his conceptual trio ‘The Glee Club’. Since its inception, ‘The Glee Club’ sought to be a band comprised of an emcee, DJ, and hand percussionist; respectively. While shortlived, it was this experience that projected Marcus into the solo artist arena; where he has proven is his house and home.
While boasting an impressive body of work (solo, instrumental, and production), Marcus relinquished control of the production helm in late 2006 to focus primarily on his solo work. Proving to be arduous for Marcus, it was this decision that catapulted him into the most redeeming position of his artistic career; to date.
Now with full creative control of his artistic representation, Marcus McFly is proving to listeners that his is a sound quite necessary for the restless hip-hop/dance community that is. Fusing lyrically driven hip-hop with dubstep and electro arrangements is only the fundamental beginning for the experience known as Marcus McFly.
